In 2026, the standard requirement is 67 years of age with at least 20 years of contributions, subject to exemptions. For those who started paying contributions from 1996, a minimum pension amount threshold also applies.

71 years: another option
In 2026, those whose first contribution credit dates from January 1, 1996, can access this pension with at least 5 years of actual contributions, without a minimum amount threshold. Notional contributions (contributi figurativi) do not count for this requirement.
Returning permanently to Ukraine?
Permanent repatriation does not cancel social security rights accrued in Italy. For non-EU workers whose contributions began after 1996, repatriation rules may allow access to the pension at the expected age even without 20 years of contributions.
